How it started

I decided to create Petal & Pen after realizing I could share my expertise beyond the corporate world. I was frustrated by the endless criteria I needed to meet to apply what I already knew — and I knew I had more to offer.

Taking the power of words into my own hands, I built something rooted in skill, intention, and creativity.

Since then, I've had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of businesses — from tech startups to established brands — providing meaningful support through writing that connects, clarifies, and inspires.

From brand messaging to blog content, every project is approached with care, strategy, and a deep respect for each client's unique goals.

Over the past five years, I have refined my proficiency across various writing disciplines. My work encompasses technical instruction for quality plans for plastic companies, as well as advertising compositions, grant proposals, business proposals, consent forms, blog entries, instructional manuals, works of fiction, and poetry. I have also written reports in chemistry, biology, neurology, cultural anthropology, and linguistics.

My academic pursuits, including a bachelor's degree in Technical Writing from Penn State: Behrend and a minor in Transnational Perspectives, have not only furnished me with a robust writing foundation but also instilled in me a global perspective. This perspective, gained through my fervor for writing, has allowed me to explore diverse corners of the world, including Rome, Italy, where I had the privilege of undertaking an acclaimed research project.

Each project has taught me the importance of precision and ingenuity, but above all, the necessity of tailoring content to accommodate the distinctive needs of each client.
